Éire - Australia - Brasil

 

Born in Dublin, raised in Perth, and not dead yet in Araraquara, Brasil. My first foray into art was vocalist / grinder in groove metal / hardcore band Hypercenter from Perth, Australia. A band that, from absolute obscurity, would garner major label interest in Austria and US, then tour the US in summer 2003, but return to Australia under the shadow of deranged investors, hired mafia goons, and eventually, a lawsuit for a quarter of a million dollars, homelessness, and an impressive spiral into drug addiction (impressive that anyone made it out at all). Somewhere around that time I was also the host of Local Noize and Meatcleaver Radio on Twin Cities FM, and working as a shit kicker stripping limestone panels in 50 degree (c) heat. Then, in 2007, i met a girl and I moved to Brasil, and that was where I started my writing career four years later. 15 years on, one accidental best seller and 26 books later, here we are, teaching english, writing weird books, raising a couple of surprisingly well-adjusted teens alone, running marathons and training for ultras - not dead yet.
